Striving For the Truth

Striving For the Truth

When we were young we would run after every fantasy,

We would live for the here and now and forget about tomorrow,

But now that our childhood days are just a faded memory,

We ask ourselves what is this all about.

So we spend the rest of our lives, Striving for the truth.

‘Cause we’re wanting something more, Than remembrances of youth.

So we spend the rest of our lives, Striving for the truth.

There have been times, when we might have done things differently,

I shoulda’, coulda’, woulda’ are familiar words I’ve heard,

We’ve learned from our past, but still we’ve not found the answer,

So we ask ourselves what is this all about.

So we’ll spend the rest of our lives,Striving for the truth.

‘Cause there’s got to be much more, Than memories of our youth.

So we’ll spend the rest of our lives, Striving for the truth.

You can spend your whole life waiting, for the truth to come your way,

Things might not appear in focus, until you’re old and grey,

Don’t expect a revelation, don’t expect a real live sign,

There’s a source of inspiration, to help you down the line.

When you find the truth make sure you realize it,

Or else you might be searching all your days.

You never can tell when that feeling will be upon you,

And if you’re not aware it just might pass you by.

So you’ll spend the rest of your life, Striving for the truth.

‘Cause you had to know what’s there, But you couldn’t see the proof.

So you’ll spend the rest of your life striving for the truth.
