Rosh Chodesh

Rosh Chodesh (Original) Written by Lenny Solomon

There’s a holiday each month for every Jew

Sometimes it’s one day and sometimes it’s two,

It’s a very special time for you and me

But the moon is so small you can hardly see.

In the old days they would testify

Before a Bet Din who would sanctify,

That this day is the start of the new moon

Torches on the hilltops very soon.

Rosh Chodesh means a very special day

It’s the new moon a lunar holiday,

Let’s have a seudah and say hallel or praise

Say Yaaleh Vyavoh, and Mussaf’s on the way.
